At the centre of Wayland’s presence will be Calibur3® and the company’s NeuBeam® electron beam process, built around its proprietary Active Charge Neutralisation technology. By neutralising charge within the powder bed, NeuBeam® removes the need for the wide-area sintering traditionally used to control charge-induced instability in E-PBF.

(Huddersfield, UK, 4th November 2026) Wayland Additive will return to Formnext in Frankfurt, 17-20 November 2026, inviting manufacturers to Hall 12, Booth B139 with a deliberately challenging message, if an application, geometry, or material has previously proved too difficult for metal AM, it may be time to look again. By neutralising charge within the powder bed, NeuBeam® removes the need for the wide-area sintering traditionally used to control charge-induced instability in E-PBF. The consequences are significant, including greater process flexibility, loose rather than heavily sintered powder surrounding the part, easier depowdering, improved potential for powder reuse, and most importantly a radically different proposition for processing demanding materials. Formnext visitors will be able to see tangible evidence of that progression, including recent work with tungsten (one of manufacturing's notoriously difficult materials) and discuss Wayland's continuing material and application development programmes. Darrin Dickinson, Head of Business Development (EMEA) at Wayland Additive, says: "The conversation we want to have at Formnext is no longer simply about what makes NeuBeam different. We want people to bring us the applications that matter to them, particularly the difficult ones. Perhaps they investigated AM several years ago and the material would not process, the economics failed, the geometry proved impossible, or the post-processing burden killed the business case. Those are precisely the conversations we want to reopen." That customer focus is reinforced by Wayland's expanded commercial team. Adam Simons and Ryan Skradski strengthen the company's presence across the United States, while Daniele Caviglia has joined as Head of Business Development for Europe, giving manufacturers greater direct access to experienced commercial specialists capable of exploring where NeuBeam® can deliver genuine application value. Dickinson continues, "AM is maturing, and customers rightly expect more than an impressive demonstration part. They need to understand whether a technology can solve their particular manufacturing problem and ultimately create commercial value. Our job is to work through that question with them. Formnext gives us an exceptional opportunity to do exactly that." For visitors wanting to go deeper into the technology, Dr Martyn Hussey, Head of Technology & Innovation at Wayland Additive, will present on Tuesday 17 November at 2:00 pm on the Technology Stage, Hall 12.1, B49, examining NeuBeam® and the technical thinking behind Wayland's alternative approach to electron beam PBF. Wayland is therefore issuing a simple invitation for Formnext 2026, don't just come to Booth B139 to see another AM machine. Bring the part, material, or production problem that has resisted conventional thinking, and start a different conversation. For more information, visit www.waylandadditive.com
